Urban Planty can be extended beyond its standard height. An optional 80 cm extension pole allows installation in spaces with ceilings up to 3.65 m. The extension connects directly to the telescopic pole and maintains the same pressure-lock stability system, ensuring the structure remains secure and properly balanced even in higher interiors.
The system is designed for nine pots to ensure optimal spacing, light exposure, and airflow. However, if you are growing compact herbs or smaller plants, additional pots can be accommodated by adjusting the vertical spacing. In certain cases, up to three smaller pots can fit within one level. For larger plants or orchids, we recommend keeping the standard configuration to preserve balance and plant health.
Watering frequency depends on the type of plant, indoor or outdoor placement, and weather conditions. Each pot includes a built-in 300 ml water reservoir. For indoor plants and orchids, this typically provides moisture for approximately three to seven days. Outdoor plants exposed to sun and wind may require watering every one to two days. During hot or windy periods, more frequent watering may be necessary. The breathable coconut fiber helps regulate moisture, but attentive care remains important.
Yes. Coconut coir is naturally porous and breathable, which allows excess moisture to move through the pot walls and prevents water stagnation. While the integrated reservoir helps stabilize hydration levels, plants should still be watered with balance and awareness of their individual needs.
In rare cases, surface mold may develop if watering is excessive or airflow is limited. This is usually superficial and does not damage the plant. Reducing watering frequency, improving air circulation, and gently removing visible mold from the surface will typically resolve the issue. Proper drainage and moderate watering prevent long-term problems.
Coconut coir pots typically last between two and four years, depending on environmental conditions such as sun exposure, humidity, and overall use. Indoors, they often last longer. Unlike plastic containers, coconut fiber gradually ages in a natural way while continuing to provide breathable root conditions.
Yes. Plants can be watered directly from the top, allowing the reservoir to collect excess moisture and regulate hydration from below. For deeper hydration, especially in the case of orchids, the base of the pot can briefly be soaked in water. Controlled watering tools or cones may also be used if preferred. The system adapts to different watering methods while maintaining stable moisture conditions.
Urban Planty is ideal for herbs such as basil, rosemary, thyme, and mint, as well as orchids, decorative indoor plants, leafy greens, and smaller vegetables like cherry tomatoes or baby peppers. It is best suited for plants that thrive in 1.5-liter containers and is not intended for large root vegetables or heavy bush-type plants.
The pressure-lock mechanism distributes force vertically between the floor and ceiling without requiring screws or drilling. When installed correctly, it does not cause damage to surfaces. The system is designed specifically to be rental-friendly and safe for finished interiors.
