We’re a small European team on a mission to bring greenery into the smallest of spaces — the makers of the patent-protected Urban Planty vertical garden, designed and made in the EU.
Before we drew a single sketch or built a single prototype, we asked ourselves one question:
How can a person living on the 10th floor grow herbs and plants on a 4 m² balcony and enjoy the fresh taste of home-prepared food, if they have no space for a garden?
We went to Kickstarter to promote our vertical garden and raise funds for three injection-molding tools for the first production series. The campaign failed — but we learned a lot and got to know the market.
On Slovenia’s biggest entrepreneurial TV show we introduced Urban Planty to the whole country, won over the audience and gained our first loyal customers — the push that moved the project forward.
After attending International Green Week in Berlin twice and our first German sales, we expanded very successfully into online sales in Italy — building brand ambassadors and distribution to specialized gardening stores.
